Second, there were two different Ford 4000 series that had a S- O -S transmission available, one had a 4 cylinder engine and the other had a 3 cylinder engine.
Keeping the oil and filters clean and the bands adjusted correctly was the key to good service. You do need the engine running to test the unit and set the pressure. the bands also have to be set with the engine running. Bern over on YT Mag is one of the top men on.

For haying, mowing or harvesting set your throttle to the PTO speed you want and shift up or down to vary the ground speed .
